Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I replace the Eureka PowerSpeed NEU182 hose assembly?
Eureka suggests replacing the PowerSpeed NEU182 hose assembly As needed under normal use — sooner with pets or daily heavy use. Signs it's due: Loss of suction, visible cracks.
How do I tell if it's the hose or just a clog?
Detach the hose and pass something long and blunt through it to clear any blockage, then check the cuffs and flex points for splits. If airflow returns after clearing it, you had a clog; if the hose body is cracked or whistles under suction, it needs replacing.
Do I have to buy the genuine Eureka part, or will a compatible one work?
Yes — a compatible (aftermarket) hose assembly works well in the Eureka PowerSpeed NEU182 as long as it's made for this exact model. Look for 4.3+ stars with plenty of reviews, and confirm the listing names your exact model.
What happens if I don't replace the hose assembly?
Left too long, a worn hose assembly causes: Loss of suction, visible cracks. It can also strain the motor over time, so replacing it on schedule is far cheaper than a repair.
